Waco Police: Do Not Put Checks in Home Mailbox

Waco Police Department Detectives warn citizens against placing bill payments in residential mailboxes.

Waco PD Release
Waco Police Department is currently working numerous forgery cases where  suspects have stolen checks from residential mailboxes. Suspects are going through mailboxes and stealing checks that were intended to pay bills. The suspects then alter the checks and are cashing them at stores in the Waco area.

We are encouraging our citizens to not place any checks in their mailboxes and to either take them directly to their local post office or hand delivery them to their mail carrier. Most of these thefts have occurred in the West Waco area.

Police have two active warrants for one of the suspects, 31 year old b/f Beranda Jashun Richardson of Waco.  Additional suspect/s may be added later.

Anyone with information on these thefts or with the whereabouts of Richardson is encouraged to call Waco Police or Crime Stoppers. Callers do not have to reveal their identity.
