Lorena Man Killed in FM 3400 Traffic Crash

A 19 year old Lorena man has been killed in a two vehicle accident on FM 3400 at Tinsley Lane just south of Waco in McLennan County. The Department of Public Safety reports Travis Leslie Karl of Lorena was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which occurred about 7:40 pm Tuesday. The investigating trooper says Karl was the driver of a 1998 Dodge pickup that was southbound on FM 3400. The trooper says he was attempting to pass a 2005 Ford pickup at a high rate of speed. The Ford had slowed to make a left turn and was turning when the collision occurred. Karls's vehicle left the road, struck a guard rail with the driver being ejected. He was not wearing a seat belt.
