Temple Police Investigating Weekend Shooting
(TEMPLE POLICE RELEASE)
Sunday, 7-24-11 at about 3:20 a.m., Temple Police responded to Scott and White Hospital, to meet a reported victim with a gunshot wound. Officers arrived and met an adult male victim, with a non-life-threatening injury to his leg.
The ensuing investigation revealed that victim had been standing outside an apartment at Jonathan Moore Homes, 711 West Calhoun Avenue, when he was approached by unknown suspects, possibly in a vehicle. These suspects then fired at least one shot at the victim, striking him in the leg. The victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, and the police were then called.
There were no other reported injuries.
The victim, and any possible witnesses, refused to cooperate further with the investigation. There is no known suspect description at this time, though it is believed the victim and suspects knew each other.
