Child Ejected When Pickup Flips in Hillsboro

A 7 year old Dallas child was seriously injured when ejected from a pickup that flipped over after a tire blew out in Hillsboro Saturday afternoon.(June 18) Hillsboro police say the child, whose name has not been released, was a passenger in a 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup that was Southbound on I-35 near the 368 milemarker in Hillsboro about 5 pm Sunday when the left rear tire blew out. Witnesses told police officers that the pickup flipped at least twice, ejecting the 7 year old. The child was airlifted to Cook Children's Hospital in Ft Worth with serious injuries. Two adults, ages 52 and 48 were airlifted to Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft Worth. Conditions and identities were not immediately available. All were from Dallas.
