AJ Moore Academy Student Believed Drowned at Lake Waco

A senior at AJ Moore Academy of the Waco Independent School District is missing and presumed drowned in Lake Waco. Waco Fire Department boats, game wardens and Corps of Engineers began searching the area just off shore at Airport Beach Park shortly after 1:30. A WISD spokesman said a group of students who had attended graduation practice this morning had gone to the lake to go swimming after practice broke up.  They were in an area not designated for swimming. The victim got into trouble and his friends tried to reach him and were unable. The missing student has been identified as 18-year-old Atahualpa Rosas.
