Ref: Man arrested for Terroristic Threat
On Friday, April 15, 2011 at approximately 7:52 AM, Gatesville Police were dispatched to the Gatesville High School concerning a student who was possibly armed with a gun. Officers from the Coryell County Sheriff’s Department and Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to assist.
When officers arrived at the school, they located the student walking down a hallway and quickly took him into custody. After a search of his person, and other areas where he had access to, no gun was found.
Officers later learned that the student had previously told several classmates that he had intentions to bring a gun to school, shoot certain people that were close to him, and then open fire randomly on other students.
The student, who police identified as Nathaniel Seth Gray, age 18 of Evant, has been charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a 3rd Degree Felony, and is currently being held in the Coryell County Jail.
The incident is currently under investigation.
News Release from: Gatesville ISD
A parent called the High School this morning and reported that their child was threatened by another student. Immediately after receiving this call, the campus was locked down and police were notified. Administrators immediately found the student and took him to the office. Police and administrators questioned the student and searched the building and no weapons were found. High School students were kept in lock down until the campus was searched and the student was taken into custody. Jr. High was also in lock down due to some of the students attending classes at high school. Chief Gohlke suggested the District call the drug dogs as a precautionary measure.
