Assembly for Check presentation for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Moody Elementary School will be having a school wide assembly on the April 14, 2011 to present a check to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the amount of $1520.00. We are doing this in the name of one of our own!!! Jim Conager Yanez, an 8 yr old young man was diagnosed with leukemia last September. JC doesn’t attend our school, but 6 of his cousins do. His Mom, Aunts and Uncles all graduated from Moody.
We had amazing participation from Pre-k all the way through 4th grade during the month of February when we collected and counted buckets and buckets of coins. Special thanks to The First National Bank of Moody for help with this project.
Three top winning classes were treated to an Olive Garden lunch on April 12, 2011. Olive Garden fed over 50 of our students and it was a great success.
Melissa Johnston a representative from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be here to accept the donation check and meet JC. This assembly will be held in the Moody Elementary Cafeteria at 1:30 on April 14, 2011.
