(Temple PD Release-Brad Hunt)
Overnight Motorcycle Crash
On Sunday, 3-13-11 at about 10:40 pm, Temple Police were called to the 600 block of Turley Drive, in reference to a motorcycle crash. When Officers arrived, they found an adult male being attended to by Scott and White EMS personnel. He was taken to Scott and White Hospital, with what were initially considered to be non-life-threatening injuries. Officers later found the injuries had been upgraded to life-threatening. At this hour, he remains at the hospital.
The motorcycle rider was identified as Rafael Robles, a 31-year-old Temple man.
The motorcycle itself had been removed from the scene by the owner, who had let Mr. Robles borrow it. Officers were able to locate the owner and motorcycle shortly after arriving at the scene.
The initial investigation revealed that Mr. Robles may have been intoxicated, and was an inexperienced rider. He therefore crashed shortly after being allowed to borrow it.
No one else was injured in the crash.
