(Temple PD Release-Brad Hunt)
A 33-year old Temple man remains in the Bell County Jail on charges he threatened a woman with a gun.
On 7-21-10, Tryone Ernest Burnett was the suspected party in an aggravated assault with deadly weapon case. In that case, he reportedly chased woman with a gun in his hand, threatening to kill her for reporting a previous offense, in the area of South 16th Street and East Avenue H. Burnett was not located on that date. On 9-7-10, Investigators had enough evidence to review the case with the Bell County District Attorney's Office. That office issued a complaint against Burnett for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. On 9-8-10, Justice of the Peace Ivey issued an arrest warrant for that charge, with a suggested bond of $25,000.
On 2-16-11, at about 4:20 pm, Temple Police went to the "Econolodge" Motel, 1001 North General Bruce Drive, to try to locate Burnett. Officers found him in a vehicle in the parking lot, and arrested him without incident. When they first arrested him, he gave a fictitious name and date of birth. He was taken to Bell County Jail, charged with Agg. Assault w/Deadly Weapon warrant, Ficititious ID, and a Parole Revocation warrant.
