INTERSTATE 35/LOOP 340 BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION - WACO – MCLENNAN COUNTY

(TXDOT RELEASE)
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will be temporarily closing various lanes of traffic at the IH 35/LP 340 (SH 6) interchange from mid-September 2010 through mid-October, 2010 in order to place steel bridge beams for the new northbound IH 35 to westbound LP 340 direct-connector bridge. All closures will occur between the hours of 7 pm and 7am to minimize the disruption to traffic. The dates below are tentative, and may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
Monday, 10/4/2010, 7pm to 7am

• LP 340 Eastbound Mainlanes will be closed (detoured to frontage road)

• IH 35 Southbound Frontage Road will be closed (detoured to Westbound LP 340 Frontage Rd, then Bagby Avenue bridge, then Eastbound LP 340 Frontage Rd)

Tuesday, 10/5/2010, 7pm to 7am

• LP 340 Eastbound Mainlanes will be closed (detoured to frontage road)

• IH 35 Southbound Frontage Road will be closed (detoured to Westbound LP 340 Frontage Rd, then Bagby Avenue bridge, then Eastbound LP 340 Frontage Rd)

Wednesday, 10/6/2010, 7 p to 7 am

• IH 35 Southbound Mainlanes will be closed (detoured to Southbound IH 35 Frontage Rd)

• LP 340 Eastbound Frontage Rd will be closed (detoured to Southbound IH 35 Frontage Rd, then Sun Valley Blvd (FM 2063) bridge, then Northbound IH 35 frontage Rd)

Thursday, 10/7/2010, 7 pm to 7 am

• IH 35 Southbound Mainlanes will be closed (detoured to Southbound IH 35 Frontage Rd)

• LP 340 Eastbound Frontage Rd will be closed (detoured to Southbound IH 35 Frontage Rd, then Sun Valley Blvd (FM 2063) bridge, then Northbound IH 35 frontage Rd)

Significant traffic congestion and delays can be expected during the overnight hours of these beam-setting operations. Motorists are advised to observe all warning signs, traffic control devices, flaggers, and police officers in the project area. It is also advised to seek alternate routes when possible.

The $88 Million construction project is projected for completion in the spring of 2012.
