BAYLOR BASKETBALL PLAYER ARRESTED

Lacedaruis Dunn arrested by Waco Police for Aggravated Assault after causing serious bodily injury to girlfriend during domestic dispute.

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew today announced the senior guard has been indefinitely suspened from the Bears'  program following his arrest in Waco

"LaceDarius Dunn has been indefinitely suspended from all team activities," Drew said.


September 27, 2010 officers were called to Hillcrest Hospital to investigate an assault. The victim, Lacharlesia Edwards, 21, of Waco, was suffering from a broken jaw. Ms. Edwards and her boyfriend Lacedaruis Dunn, 23, of Waco, had gotten into an argument when Mr. Dunn punched her in the face. Ms. Edwards was taken to Hillcrest Hospital to seek treatment for her injuries from the assault.

Waco Police detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Dunn for Aggravated Assault, Family Violence and he turned himself in to police on October 5, 2010.

Baylor University is working to gather all the facts surrounding this incident and is fully cooperating with investigating authorities.  Baylor officials say they will have no further comment on the matter until more information is available.
