NO OUTDOOR WATERING requested by the City
Effective immediately, the City of Waco is asking all residents and industries to eliminate all irrigation for the next few days. Conservation efforts in all areas would be helpful, as well. Conserving now may help to avoid potential mandatory water restrictions.
Total water treatment capacity is now 40 million gallons per day. Over the last week, the customer demand has averaged about 42.3 million gallons per day.
City staff and contractors are working to repair the 48” line on Lakeshore Drive that supplies 75% of the City's water to the Mt. Carmel Water Treatment Plant. It is possible that a temporary repair could be made within a few days. However, until this line is repaired it is critical that water is conserved. If our conservation efforts are successful we will not have to implement the City’s drought contingency plan which mandates water restrictions.

The City Council and staff truly appreciate your understanding and your efforts to conserve until our water system is back to full strength
