BRUCEVILLE-EDDY POT BUST

Two Wichita Falls area residents are in the McLennan County Jail after a weekend traffic stop yielded pot and cash. Officer Daniel Edwards made the stop early Sunday morning after a vehicle failed to come to a full stop at a stop sign. Spotting marijuana paraphenalia in sight in the vehicle, and seeing the female passenger attempting to hide it, he conducted a search and recovered just under 11 pounds of marijuana in ten large freezer bags along with a quanity of cash. The driver of the car, identified as William Anthony Valdez ( 2/5/77) and passenger identified as Sophia Zaragoza ( 5/22/84) were taken into custody. Both were charged with possession of marijuana over five pounds and under fifty. Bond for Valdez was set at $50-thousand and for Ms Zaragoza at $40-thousand.
